Even though the Neville Tigers scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Peabody Warhorses still came out on top. Peabody managed a  59-55 victory over Neville. Given Peabody's advantage  in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings  (they are ranked third, while Neville is ranked 54th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Peabody was led to victory by  Rashad Mitchell and  Justin Burns.  Mitchell  scored 20 points along with six  rebounds and five  assists, while  Burns  dropped  a double-double on 22 points and 18  rebounds.  Jordan Mathews was another key contributor,  scoring seven points along with five  rebounds and three  blocks.
 Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Travone Varner, who  scored 15 points along with six  assists and five  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Travis Lynch, who  scored ten points along with three  blocks.
 Peabody pushed their record up to 19-3 with that  win, which was their tenth straight  at home. They've been dominating during the  games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32 points. As for Neville, they have  been struggling recently, as they've  lost five of their last six matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.
 Peabody won't have much time to rest: their next  matchup is against Huntington at 4:00  p.m.  on January 13th. Huntington is coming into the  game on a three-game losing streak. As for Neville, they will look to defend their home court  on Friday against Grant at 7:00  p.m. Grant is coming into the  contest on a three-game losing streak.
