The Hillsboro Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. The matchup between them and Life Waxahachie wasn't particularly close, with Hillsboro falling 50-35. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Hillsboro of the 69-60 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Hillsboro's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Creech, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Tory Brooks, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Hillsboro has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-13 record this season. As for Life Waxahachie, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillsboro will take on the Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ferris has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for Life Waxahachie, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Godley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
