The Millburn Millers waltzed into their contest Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They enjoyed a cozy 70-51 victory over University. Given Millburn's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while University is ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Zach Benmorits, who scored 35 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Chase Plotkin was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Millburn's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millburn will challenge North Star Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Star Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for University, they will head out on the road to face off against Newark Tech at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
