Downey hadn't done well against Modesto recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Downey Knights were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over the Modesto Panthers. Considering the Knights have won nine matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Modesto with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Cesar Bojorquez (2), Arturo Sarabia, and Jose Ramos.

Downey pushed their record up to 11-2-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those five games. As for Modesto, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 1-12-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Downey will head out to take on Gregori at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
