Hillcrest gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They won a match that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Madison Bobcats 23-22. The win was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on six straight dating back to last season.
Hillcrest had a senior duo take command as Tyson Sweetwood rushed for 61 yards and one TD and Dax Sargent rushed for 98 yards and one touchdown.
Madison's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillcrest is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Bonneville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Madison, they will take on Middleton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
