Baseball Recap: Amber-Pocasset Has No Trouble Against Hammon

Amber-Pocasset got themselves on the board against Hammon on Thursday, but Hammon never followed suit. They blew past the Hammon Warriors 8-0. Considering the Panthers have won three games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jackson Riley and Trace Barry did most of the damage at the plate: Riley scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Barry went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Barry a new career-high. Connor Copeland also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Amber-Pocasset's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hammon, they moved to 3-1 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amber-Pocasset will welcome Hinton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hammon, they will be playing at home against Sweetwater at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hammon's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Sweetwater's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
