Fairchester recap Sept. 26, 2012
King Low Heywood Thomas's Brian Alebiuso recorded the longest rushing play in Fairchester this season in his game against Hamden Hall Country Day last week. Alebiuso scampered for 91 yards on the play and finished with 167 on the day as his team defeated Hamden Hall Country Day.
King Low Heywood Thomas was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Joe Linta's team 33-7. Danny Gouin's team came in at 19 in the state poll after placing at number 47 last week.
Dante Cioffi put up the best numbers through the air as Kingswood-Oxford lost to Hackley. He finished with a total of 32 completions for 323 yards and four touchdowns. Cioffi's favorite target this week was Max Petrie, who caught 11 passes for 117 yards.
Mustafaa Dais was the best wideout in the league this week as the Hornets defeated the Wyverns. Dais tallied five receptions for 185 yards. Luke Sweeney helped Hackley's passing attack out by catching five balls for 53 yards.
Joey Santoro was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 190 yards as the Vikings topped Kingswood-Oxford.
Thanks to the talents of Cioffi and Sharrieff Grice Jason Martinez's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Cioffi leads the league in passing with 487 yards, while Grice has rushed for 474 yards this season. Phillip Treglia's team's Dais leads the league in receiving yards with 276 on seven catches.
A big matchup in Fairchester this week will be when Hamden Hall Country Day takes on St. Luke's. As it stands, Hamden Hall Country Day is in sixth, while the Storm are in first.
Rye Country Day moved up to 11 from 160 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of a 22-7 win over Bronxville.
