Wilton is 2-8 against the Tigers since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Wilton Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Ridgefield Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Wilton struggled with threes on Tuesday (the Wreckers had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Wilton fell 76-68 to the Wreckers.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ryan Luchetta, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Henry Roy was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists.
Wilton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Ridgefield waltzed into their match on Tuesday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. Everything went their way against McMahon as Ridgefield made off with a 75-52 victory. Ridgefield has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.
Wilton's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Ridgefield, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Things could have been worse for Wilton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-55 loss to the Tigers in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Wilton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
