Sadly, the Crossroads Charter Academy Cougars are still looking for their first win of the season after 17 games. They suffered a rough 65-42 loss at the hands of Walkerville on Thursday. Crossroads Charter Academy has not had much luck with Walkerville recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Crossroads Charter Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Keegan Carnes, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Carnes also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Donny Guernsey, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
Crossroads Charter Academy dropped their record down to 0-17 with that defeat, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.5 points per game. As for Walkerville, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crossroads Charter Academy is on the road again on Monday and plays Cadillac Heritage Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th. As for Walkerville, they will take on Brethren at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
