Marie Philip and American School for the Deaf are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts' road trip will continue as they head out to face the American School for the Deaf Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Marie Philip focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday.
On Monday, Marie Philip came up short against Boston University Academy and fell 61-54.
Marie Philip might have lost, but man, Xavier DeLeon was a machine: he scored 31 points along with seven steals. DeLeon is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Novas, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, American School for the Deaf's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 55-40 fall against Marvelwood. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for American School for the Deaf in their matchups with Marvelwood: they've now lost three in a row.
Marie Philip's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for American School for the Deaf, they bumped their record down to 3-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Marie Philip strolled past American School for the Deaf in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 65-48. Does Marie Philip have another victory up their sleeve, or will American School for the Deaf turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
