Lamar Consolidated made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Columbia, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Lamar Consolidated blew past Columbia 13-6 on Friday. Considering the Mustangs have won six games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kailey Quinn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on nine hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sophia Lundstrom and Terra Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Lundstrom scored two runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5, while Williams went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Lundstrom is also on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubree Jones, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run.
Lamar Consolidated kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Terry got themselves on the board against Bandera on Saturday, but Bandera never followed suit. Everything went their way against the BULLDOGS as they made off with a 15-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Rangers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Lamar Consolidated's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Terry, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.
Everything went Lamar Consolidated's way against Terry in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Lamar Consolidated made off with a 16-0 victory. Does Lamar Consolidated have another victory up their sleeve, or will Terry turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
