The Westlake Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Campbell Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Westlake put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything went their way against East Coweta as Westlake made off with a 62-40 victory. Given Westlake's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Indians are ranked 325th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Campbell came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Carrollton by a score of 46-39.
Westlake's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Campbell, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
Westlake lost to the Spartans at home by a decisive 53-35 margin in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Campbell's Brooke Suttle, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. Now that Westlake knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
