The Union Spartans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by West Columbus on the road to the tune of 56-25. Considering Union has won four games by more than 19 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Union's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Centavia McKoy led the charge by scoring 16 points. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. Zadariyah Faison was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Union's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for West Columbus, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Union will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. After both having extra time off, West Columbus and West Bladen will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. West Bladen is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
