The Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats were the 27-23 winner over the Port Aransas Marlins when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Skidmore-Tynan fell 43-35 to Port Aransas on Tuesday. It was the first time this season that Skidmore-Tynan let down their fans at home.
Skidmore-Tynan lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bennett Martinez, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cisco Solis, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Skidmore-Tynan's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-4. As for Port Aransas, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.
Skidmore-Tynan will head out on the road to challenge Yorktown at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Yorktown has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Port Aransas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodsboro is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
