It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Maynard Tigers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They managed a 57-53 victory over Hopedale. Winning may never get old, but Maynard sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Despite the loss, Hopedale still got an impressive performance from Patrick Madden, who scored 23 points. Madden has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Robbie Manning, who scored 12 points.
Maynard's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Hopedale, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maynard won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Tyngsborough has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 171 points over their last three matches.
