 Kinston  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .591. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Geneva County only posted  an  OBP of  .312.
 Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for New Brockton's offense. They lost  14-0 to Ariton on Friday.
 Kinston's win was  their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs over those games. As for New Brockton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Kinston came up short against New Brockton when the teams last played  back in March of 2021, falling  7-2. Can Kinston avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
