The Central Crossing Comets will head out to take on the Olentangy Braves at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Central Crossing is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Westerville North by a score of 7-4.
Hayliee Roberts made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Autumn Bryant was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Jazmyn Rushin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Central Crossing hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westerville North struck out 15 times.
Meanwhile, Olentangy made easy work of Newark on Monday and carried off a 17-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Olentangy let Camila Taylor (Murray State) and Nola Tracy (Miami University) run wild. Taylor (Murray State) fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4, while Tracy (Miami University) fired off two home runs, four runs, and one stolen base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Addi Hulshof (Maryland), who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Central Crossing's record now sits at 13-14. As for Olentangy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Central Crossing hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Olentangy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Central Crossing was able to grind out a solid win over Olentangy in their previous matchup back in April of 2017, winning 3-0. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
