Leeds has won six straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Oak Grove has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Leeds Greenwave will host the Oak Grove Tigers at 3:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Leeds 3.5, Oak Grove 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Friday, Leeds beat Clay-Chalkville 9-4. The victory continues a trend for the Greenwave in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won eight in a row.

Leeds got a massive performance out of Conner Nelson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Nelson is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ty Bedell, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Oak Grove ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Hueytown 3-2. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one run.
Colton Praytor made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Praytor was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.
Praytor wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jay Fuller, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Leeds' win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Oak Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Leeds has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Oak Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Leeds skirted past Oak Grove 5-4 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Does Leeds have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oak Grove turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
