The North Canyon Rattlers are taking a road trip to challenge the Youngker Roughriders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Thursday, North Canyon had just enough and edged out Buckeye 8-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rattlers.

Jose Chavez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because North Canyon is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-11 otherwise. Chavez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Johnny Huerta, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Hunter Dye, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
North Canyon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Youngker waltzed into their contest on Monday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Coyotes.
Youngker saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeremiah Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Garcia has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Youngker's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for North Canyon, their record is now 9-12.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Canyon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Youngker struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
