Everything went Independence's way against Charles City on Friday as they made off with a 38-13 win. That's another feather in the cap for Independence, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
The victory bumped Independence's record up to 6-1. The defeat dropped Charles City's record to 4-3.
Next week Independence take on Waverly-Shell Rock at 7:30 PM. Keep an eye on the score for this one: those two teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up. As for Charles City, they will face off against West Delaware. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
