Baseball Recap: Bristol Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Bristol came out on top against Valley Forge Military Academy on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run second inning. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Trojans a 15-0 shutout. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Harry Scancella was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Bristol got a massive performance out of Trae Anthony, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Anthony a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayden Scancella, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Bristol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Forge Military Academy only posted an OBP of .273.

Bristol's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Valley Forge Military Academy, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Bristol does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valley Forge Military Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Jenkintown on the 13th.
