The Dakota Indians will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Pecatonica Indians at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Dakota focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Saturday.
Dakota's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. The match between Dakota and Polo wasn't particularly close, with Dakota falling 45-28. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dakota in their matchups with Polo: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite their loss, Dakota saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Madison Binder, who scored three points along with 11 rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all.
In what's become a running theme this season, Pecatonica gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They blew past Durand 51-18 on the road. Given Pecatonica's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Durand is ranked 538th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dakota has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Pecatonica, their win bumped their record up to 21-4.
