After flying high against the Early College Sharks last Tuesday, the World of Inquiry Griffins came back down to earth. World of Inquiry took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rochester Prep. The result was an unpleasant reminder to World of Inquiry of the 52-49 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Wednesday.
World of Inquiry lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Diego Martinez, who scored 16 points along with five assists and two steals. Martinez is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jaedon Adams, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds.
World of Inquiry's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Rochester Prep, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. World of Inquiry will take on Penn Yan Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Penn Yan Academy is coming into the match with three straight wins on the road, so World of Inquiry is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Rochester Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Monroe at 6:00 p.m. Rochester Prep is on a four-game streak of home wins, Monroe a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
