Horseshoe Bend has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Council Lumberjacks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Horseshoe Bend suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 71-42 loss at the hands of Garden Valley. Horseshoe Bend has struggled against Garden Valley recently, as their matchup on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Horseshoe Bend's loss came about despite a quality game from Layth Bromgard, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Bromgard is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Treyven Bauer was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Council suffered a tough 60-35 defeat at the hands of Cascade on Saturday.
Horseshoe Bend has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Council, they bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Horseshoe Bend came up short against Council in their previous matchup last Monday, falling 56-49. Can Horseshoe Bend avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
