After losing to the Kirby Prep Griffins the last time they met, the Pescadero Vikings decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Pescadero came out on top against Kirby Prep by a score of 57-50 on Saturday.
Despite the defeat, Kirby Prep had strong showings from Rain Li, who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds, and Chris Lively, who scored 17 points. Li scored a full 36% of Kirby Prep's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Henry Annon, who scored 8 points.
Pescadero's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Kirby Prep, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pescadero will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Summit Preparatory at 4:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for Kirby Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Varsity Opponent at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
