The Ridgway Demons lost against the Olathe Pirates back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Ridgway was beaten by Olathe 64-28.
Despite the loss, Ridgway still got an impressive performance from Ali Sauer, who scored four points along with five rebounds. Sauer set a new season high mark in blocks with two.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Olathe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyra Gray, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The contest was Gray's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiandra Liles, who scored 19 points along with six steals and five assists.
Ridgway's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-2. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.2 points per game. As for Olathe, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Coincidentally, Ridgway and Olathe will both be playing North Fork the next time they take the court. Olathe will head out to face North Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Ridgway will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
