After flying high against Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton last Friday, the Wayne City Indians came back down to earth. Wayne City's tough 59-38 loss to Odin/Patoka/Sandoval on Thursday might stick with them for a while.
Wayne City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Greenlea Vaughan, who scored 17 points. Vaughan scored a full 44.7% of Wayne City's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenna Anselment, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Wayne City's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-3. As for Odin/Patoka/Sandoval, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne City will take on Woodlawn at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Odin/Patoka/Sandoval will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wayne City at 5:00 p.m. on December 14th.
