The Quad Cities Christian Eagles won the last time they faced the Rivermont Collegiate Lions, and things went their way on Monday too. Quad Cities Christian took down the Lions 61-43. Quad Cities Christian pushed the score to 50-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.
Quad Cities Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Seth Karl, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Karl has scored at least a third of Quad Cities Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cobie Becker-Paradiso, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Eamon Matlock and Dominic Coles certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Matlock scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three blocks, while Coles scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Matlock has scored all season. Tahir Kaplan was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Rivermont Collegiate struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Quad Cities Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Rivermont Collegiate, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quad Cities Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for Rivermont Collegiate, they will take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
