The Dunellen Destroyers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Amboy. Dunellen has not had much luck with South Amboy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Destroyers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vibert Reynolds, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reynolds has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Hutchins, who scored eight points.
Dunellen bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for South Amboy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dunellen won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Calvary Christian at 5:30 p.m. on December 21st. South Amboy will finish 2023 at home by hosting Henry Hudson at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
