Baseball Recap: Foxcroft Academy Extends Winning Streak to Six

Foxcroft Academy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They blew past the Central Red Devils 14-1. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Ponies this season.

Hayden Strout and Lucas Sands were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Strout tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Sands struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Strout has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Strout got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base, while Sands went 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. Those four runs gave Strout a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Evan Seavey looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Thomas Day was incredible, firing off three home runs and seven RBI while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Josh Knapp also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

Foxcroft Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with five home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Foxcroft Academy's record is now 11-2. As for Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
