The Lancaster Bruins will take on the Dreher Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lancaster has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Lancaster couldn't beat Andrew Jackson on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Bruins came up short against the Volunteers, falling 14-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bruins have suffered since March 5th.
Lancaster got a good showing from Reese Grace, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.
At the plate, Lancaster saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sheridyn Mickles, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dreher). They put the hurt on South Pointe with a sharp 18-7 victory on Thursday. With that win, the Blue Devils brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Rory McCormack made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tatiyana Murry, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Jessica Bradley was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.
Dreher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .617. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Lancaster's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-7. As for Dreher, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.
Dreher's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lancaster hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. It's a different story for Dreher, though, as they've only averaged .245. Will they be able to contain Lancaster's hitters?
Everything went Lancaster's way against Dreher in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Lancaster made off with an 8-1 win. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
