Newark Memorial has gone 9-1 against Mission San Jose recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. Newark Memorial is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Last Wednesday, Newark Memorial was able to grind out a solid win over Moreau Catholic, taking the game 9-4.
Ariana Romo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caitlyn Rose, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Tall, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Newark Memorial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moreau Catholic only posted a batting average of .222.
Meanwhile, Mission San Jose got themselves on the board against Washington last Tuesday, but Washington never followed suit. They came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 4-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
The result came thanks to Hailey Pan's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks.
At the plate, Aria Gokani was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Anjali Singh, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Newark Memorial pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Mission San Jose, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
Mission San Jose's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Newark Memorial has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .488. It's a different story for Mission San Jose, though, as they've only averaged .277. Will they be able to contain Newark Memorial's hitters?
