Basketball Recap: Lucas Drops Highest Score of Season Against South Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lucas). They claimed a resounding 66-21 victory over the South Central Trojans. The Cubs pushed the score to 54-17 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans had no chance of recovering from.

Lucas' win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Katie Griffey, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 19 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Trumpower, who went 7 for 9 en route to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Lucas was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Lucas' win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for South Central, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Lucas is taking a road trip to face off against Mansfield Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mansfield Christian will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Lucas surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 43-22 loss against Crestview on the 30th.
