After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Johnson, Fairfield was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Florin Panthers a 25-0 shutout. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 20 runs or more this season.

Karli Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.

In other batting news, Fairfield got a massive performance out of Kaya Lanzon, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Lanzon launched this season. Another player making a difference was Claudia Lucero, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Fairfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Fairfield's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Florin, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Fairfield will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Rodriguez at 3:30 p.m. on the 15th. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Florin, they will host Burbank at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 24.43 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
