Basketball Recap: Gambell Extends Winning Streak to Three

Gambell extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Jarvis Campbell-Soonagrook. The Gambell King Polar Bear breezed past the Aniguiin Eagles to the tune of 92-46 on Saturday thanks to Campbell-Soonagrook, who posted 39 points. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Another player making a difference was Tristan Campbell, who had 20 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Gambell pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-6 Aniguiin and 2-5 Aniguiin (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.9% over those games). As for Aniguiin, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Gambell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-60 victory against Anthony Andrews on the 15th. As for Aniguiin, they will venture away from home to challenge Brevig Mission on Friday. Brevig Mission has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
