The Foshay Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Math & Science College Preparatory at home and fell 78-43. Foshay has not had much luck with Math & Science College Preparatory recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Foshay saw an underclassman step up: Shomare' Gray scored 20 points. Gabriel Wright was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Leading Math & Science College Preparatory to victory were Sergio Lopez and Adan Martinez Grijalva. Lopez scored 20 points, while Martinez Grijalva scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sterling Keyser, who scored 11 points.
Foshay's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Math & Science College Preparatory, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 20-7.
Foshay will head out on the road to square off against Hawkins at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hawkins has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Math & Science College Preparatory, they will be playing at home against Maywood Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Math & Science College Preparatory knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully Maywood Academy likes a good challenge.
