Sierra Valley Conference recap October 29, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Alex Kropp and Alex Van Dyke Jr. connected against Vista del Lago. The longest such play in Sierra Valley Conference this season, the connection resulted in 82 yards.
Sammy Gray of Cosumnes Oaks ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against the Eagles last week. Gray ran for 79 yards on the play and finished with 79 on the day as his team bested Vista del Lago.
Matt Jimison was a passing and rushing force as Mike Struebing's team lost to Cosumnes Oaks. He completed 48 passes for 436 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 5 yards. Jimison's favorite target this week was Brad Rittenhouse, who caught 14 passes for 128 yards.
Van Dyke Jr. had an awesome week catching the football as Ryan Gomes' team topped the Eagles. He caught 9 passes for 271 yards.
Kropp threw for 403 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 17-28 with 0 interceptions.
Tyler Clanin was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 112 yards on 9 carries as El Dorado defeated Vista del Lago. Logan Kirby also contributed to the rushing game with 58 yards on the ground.
6-foot-2 quarterback Jimison of the Eagles is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,738. He has also thrown 30 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Van Dyke Jr.. The Cosumnes Oaks star has 36 catches for 663 yards.
An important game coming up in Sierra Valley Conference this week will be when Cosumnes Oaks takes on Liberty Ranch. The Wolfpack are in first place, while the Hawks are in third place.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Cosumnes Oaks beat Vista del Lago 40-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Wolfpack.
