The Redbank Valley Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They strolled past Mercer with points to spare, taking the game 75-57. Given Redbank Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Mercer is ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Redbank Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Clouse, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Clouse, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Redbank Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Mercer, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
Redbank Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Moniteau at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Moniteau has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 271 points over their last four matchups. Mercer and Rocky Grove will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Rocky Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
