The False River Gators were the 59-56 winner over the Mt. Hermon Yellowjackets when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. False River took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Hermon on Friday. False River's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
False River's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Karson Lacombe, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Matthew Graffeo who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. Lacombe hasn't dropped below two steals for 21 straight games.
False River has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season. As for Mt. Hermon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-14 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. False River's road trip will continue as they head out to face Livonia at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th. Livonia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than False River in Louisiana (Livonia is ranked 164th, while False River is ranked 373rd). As for Mt. Hermon, they will head out on the road to challenge Pope John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
