The KIPP Esperanza Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 58-35 margin over Mid-Peninsula. The win was familiar territory for KIPP Esperanza who now have four in a row.
KIPP Esperanza found their leader in underclassman Eddie Whiteside, who scored 33 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Whiteside has scored at least 25% of KIPP Esperanza's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tuli Vea, who scored six points.
KIPP Esperanza pushed their record up to 5-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Mid-Peninsula, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP Esperanza will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Summit Preparatory at 5:00 p.m. on January 19, 2024. Mid-Peninsula will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Palo Alto Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2024. East Palo Alto Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
