Softball Recap: Norton Has No Trouble Against Norwood

Norton won the last time they faced Norwood and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lancers blew past the Mustangs 10-3. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Liana Danubio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Norton got a massive performance out of Avery Tinkham, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Avery Soares, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Norton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Norton's record now sits at 10-1. As for Norwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
