The Sheehan Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Newington Nor'easters at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Sheehan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
Sheehan can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They blew past Canton 59-38. Given Sheehan's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Warriors are ranked 75th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Newington came up short against the Trojans on Saturday and fell 48-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Newington has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kendall Miller, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Romanello, who scored two points along with ten rebounds.
Sheehan pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Newington, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.
Sheehan came up short against the Nor'easters when the teams last played back in January of 2020, falling 53-47. Can Sheehan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
