Basketball Recap: Megan Callahan Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Odyssey Institute

St. Augustine Catholic lost to Odyssey Institute back in January of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The St. Augustine Catholic Wolves put the hurt on the Odyssey Institute Minotaur with a sharp 34-12 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

St. Augustine Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Megan Callahan, who posted 15 points. Callahan has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Preciado, who scored seven points and 13 rebounds.

St. Augustine Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive matches.

St. Augustine Catholic's record is now 8-6. As for Odyssey Institute, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

St. Augustine Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-26 victory against Santa Rita on the 7th. As for Odyssey Institute, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 47-10 loss against Fountain Hills on the 7th.
