Basketball Recap: Community Academy of Philadelphia Starts Season with Victory at Home

Community Academy of Philadelphia gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against Delaware Valley Friends by a score of 41-30. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bruins also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Loss or not, Delaware Valley Friends got some senior leadership from Henry Vilardo and Joe Ballou. Vilardo posted eight points and eight rebounds, while Ballou had ten points and six assists. Vilardo has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played.

Delaware Valley Friends' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coincidentally, Community Academy of Philadelphia and Delaware Valley Friends will both be playing Kohelet Yeshiva the next time they take the court. The Bruins will head out to face Kohelet Yeshiva at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Delaware Valley Friends will host them at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
