After flying high against the Dolores Huerta Prep Scorpions last Wednesday, the Fountain Valley Danes came back down to earth. Fountain Valley had to suffer through a rough 95-16 loss at the hands of Peyton. Fountain Valley has not had much luck with Peyton recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Quin Lewis was Fountain Valley's leading scorer, having posted 11 points.
Peyton was led to victory by AJ Mannering and Abbie Nickell. Mannering scored 32 points along with eight steals and seven assists, while Nickell scored 35 points along with six steals and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nickell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emme Ratliff, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Fountain Valley now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Peyton, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Fountain Valley will head out on the road to take on Monument Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monument Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Peyton, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Y at 1:30 p.m. Y is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
