The Aledo Bearcats put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Brewer on the road to the tune of 59-13. Given Aledo's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Brewer is ranked 375th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Hawk Patrick-Daniels, who rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 67 receiving yards. Another big playmaker for Aledo was Ky Howington, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Aledo's victory was their 11th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Brewer, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Aledo will be playing in front of their home fans against Shoemaker at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shoemaker is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Brewer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
