Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Tampa Prep Terrapins, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 75-62 to the Crusaders on Thursday. Tampa Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tampa Catholic apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Tuesday.
Tampa Prep lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chandler White Brooks, who scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Tampa Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tampa Catholic only pulled down three offensive rebounds.
Isaiah Campbell-Finch was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with seven assists and six rebounds for Tampa Catholic. That makes it four consecutive games in which Campbell-Finch has scored at least a third of Tampa Catholic's points. Colby Cannizzaro was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with three steals.
Tampa Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 23-4. As for Tampa Catholic, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-14.
Tampa Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tampa Catholic will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Berkeley Prep on February 10th. Tampa Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 441 points over their last six contests.
