The Timnath Cubs will head out on the road to square off against the Brush Beetdiggers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Timnath has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Timnath can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 83-37 win over Frontier Academy. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-8.
Timnath got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lily Eisbrener out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals. Eisbrener is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiana Guzman, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Brush suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Monday. They were dealt a 70-31 defeat at the hands of Resurrection Christian. While losing is never fun, Brush can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Resurrection Christian is ranked 47th).
Timnath's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points per game. As for Brush, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Timnath might still be hurting after the 67-46 defeat they got from Brush in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Timnath avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
