The Dighton Hornets are on the road again on Friday and play against the Victoria Knights at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dighton extended their postseason success on Friday against Wallace County. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 36-16 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Dighton just coasted through the last quarter.
Dighton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Cramer, who threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Dighton also got a significant boost from Ryland Price, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 109 yards.
Meanwhile, Victoria faced South Barber in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Victoria simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat South Barber 62-16 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Victoria who now have eight in a row.
Their wins bumped Dighton to 6-4 and Victoria to 8-1.
Dighton lost to Victoria on the road by a decisive 46-28 margin in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Thankfully for Dighton, Carson Werth (who rushed for 228 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
