In what's become a running theme this season, the Bishop Kenny Crusaders gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 56-18 victory over Mandarin. The victory was familiar territory for Bishop Kenny who now have six in a row.
Bishop Kenny had a senior duo take command as Riley Talbert scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals and Clare Coyle scored 13 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Abby Baker, who scored five points.
Despite the loss, Mandarin still got an impressive performance from Ny'keria Thomas, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Mandarin struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Bishop Kenny's win was their 22nd straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Mandarin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Kenny will take on Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverside is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Mandarin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against First Coast at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. First Coast will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 456th, while Mandarin is ranked 110th).
